Ten Questions with Kyla Ross
Kyla Ross is a two-time junior National Champion. She is one of the US’s most experienced gymnasts, having competed at two Jesolo meets in Italy, Junior Pan Ams and at the 2010 Pacific Rim International in Australia. She is known for her difficult gymnastics and her very clean work. She trains at Gym-max in California with Howie and Jenny Liang.
What has been your proudest moment as a gymnast?
Ever? So far being the two-time National Champion.
If you could have the career of any other gymnast, who would it be?
I think Shannon Miller because she has been to the Olympics twice and she did very well both times.
If you could change a rule in the sport, what would it be?
Um, I think the hardest thing in competitions is the shortness of the warm ups.
What are your coaches always reminding you?
Point my toes!
Why did you start in the sport?
I started when I was three just because my parents put me in a small class.
Ever had any embarassing moments in competition?
Once, I think it was in level six I ran down the runway and I jumped right onto the vault. I didn’t go forward!
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
To be invisible.
If you went to the Olympics for another sport, what would you choose?
Maybe volleyball
Do you think having a lot of previous major experience helps you at competitions like Covergirl and Visas?
Yes, definitely, it gives me more meets than just these two meets a season just to get prepared and to get experince
Do you still get nervous?
I still get nervous, but this (Covergirl) isn’t as big as Pac Rims, so we’re not as much representing the US, but our own gym, but I still want to do my best.

Kyla sounds nice. Is she age eligible for London?
If so this will be the most difficult task ever picking a team for USA!
