So, What Did I Miss?

Yet another super-week is upon us and we can’t decide what to do first. Shake fist at Doha for being in the middle of the work week (well, for most of us)? Find out more about each event and their schedules? Organize our own schedule and align it after we find all the live gymnastics feeds?

But let’s take a step back and attempt recap of what the past 7 days have offered us in terms of gym-related news and events:

Doha World Cup – Swiss star Giulia Steingruber dominated qualifications top placements for two event finals. Find the rest of the results here.

Cottbus World Cup – a very diverse field also reflected in the winners for each event, a good mix of countries represented and age of participant gymnasts. [HERE]

Larisa Iordache pulled out of from 2015 Euros – given that she was the all around favorite, the competition has just become less rich in terms of spectacular skills but a more interesting all around battle. Makes sense? [HERE]

The Romanian Federation replaced her with Andreea Munteanu, although the nominative registration released last week still included Iordache among participants  [HERE]

The Dutch Euro team was selected: Thorsdottir, Wevers, Supriana, van Klaveren. It was a two stage selection and Eef van Leeuwen sent us all the details [part 1] [part 2]

Rio test event for gymnastics will take place between the 16th and the 24th of April 2016 [HERE]

    Did anyone else hear that Yao Jinnah is injured and getting surgery in the states or is that old news and I’m late?

    What is ponor in? I don’t what it is and what it’s supposed to do in 2013 I saw a video of Larisa and diana in it but don’t know what it is

    From 28 to 29th march there were the german youth championchips.
    The titles in the agegroups from 12 to 15 were all gone to gymnasts training at Stuttgart.
    12 years old Emelie Petz with a total score over 50 points
    13 years old Kim Ruoff with about 49 points
    14 years old Julia Plattenhardt with about 51 points
    15 years old Tabea Alt with over 55 points ( she had one or two falls)

    One of the highlights was Florine Harder from Mannheim doing a double twisting Yourchenko.
